This Privacy Notice describes our privacy practices for data that we collect:

-through our social media pages that we control, if any (collectively, our “Social Media Pages”);
-through our email messages and through your communications with us, and
-when you visit or stay as a guest at one of our properties or through other activities and interactions with us (collectively, “Property Interactions”).
Collectively, we refer to the Website and our Social Media Pages as the “Online Interactions” and, together with the Property Interactions, the “Services.” By using the Services, you agree to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Notice.

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Notice at any time, and when required by law, we will notify you of changes to this Privacy Notice. If we make any material changes and are required by law to notify you, we will notify you by email (sent to the e-mail address specified in your account) or by means of a notice on our Services prior to the change becoming effective.

Personal Information That We Collect
Personal information is data that identifies an individual or relates to an identifiable individual. This includes information you provide to us, information which is collected about you automatically, and information we obtain from third parties.

For example, your name and contact information are needed to make a reservation. Below we have listed the categories of personal information that we may collect from you.
–Contact Information. Your first and last name, email address, postal address, phone number, user name, social media handle, whether you are a customer or travel agent, or other similar contact information. We may also collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, user information or other similar contact information of your travel companions. We may also collect your signature and employer information.
–Billing Information. Information that you provide us to process your payment if you make purchases, such as your credit or debit card number, or bank information, including but not limited to reservations.
–Customer Service Information. Information related to your stay, such as your preferences, special requests you make, or information related to products or services you use.
–Survey Information. The information you provide in response to a survey that you choose to respond to, including opinions on resort features or offerings, your interest in other resorts, and other such comments and suggestions.
–Demographic Information. Demographic information, such as your geographic location, date of birth, anniversary date, or any other significant date. We may collect information about your significant others and travel companions, such as the names and ages of children.
–Traveler Information. Your travel details, including personal identification such as a passport, the license plate or make and model of your car, or information about other individuals travelling with you.
–Protected or Sensitive Information. Unless specifically requested, we ask that you not send us, and you not disclose, on or through the Services or otherwise to us, any protected or sensitive personal information (e.g., social security number, taxpayer identification number, passport number, driver’s license number or other government-issued identification number; credit or debit card details or financial account number, with or without any code or password that would permit access to the account, credit history; or information on race, religion, ethnicity, sex life or practices or sexual orientation, medical or health information, genetic or biometric information, biometric templates, political or philosophical beliefs, political party or trade union membership, background check information, judicial data such as criminal records or information on other judicial or administrative proceedings).
–Health Information. When you dine, participate in any of our activities or use certain services like spa, you may choose to provide health related information, such as whether you have any preexisting conditions. This information is provided at your discretion. You should not rely on us to retain a record of the health information you provide for any future activities in which you participate.
–Audio and Visual Information: During your visit or stay at our properties, we may collect your and your travel companions’ images, and video and audio data via security cameras located in public areas, such as lobbies, restaurants, elevators, etc.
–Biometric Information: Some of our properties may collect biometric information, such as digital images.
–Online Interactions. We collect aggregated analytics data about website visitors, such as your internet protocol (IP) address, location information, when you use our Website or interact with us through social media.
Personal Information Received From Third Parties. We may receive some of the above stated personal information about you from third parties, such as from booking agents, business affiliates of ours, through technology such as cookies, and when you use third party agents or third party services, such as booking sites to make a reservation.
How We Collect Personal Information
We collect personal information in the following manner:
Personal information that you provide
–Online Interactions. We collect personal information from you when you visit our website, establish an account, interact with us on Social Media, subscribe to our newsletter or email updates, or send us requests over emails.
–Property Interactions. We collect personal information from you about you and your travel companions when you check-in to our properties, tell us your preferences, book an appointment to participate in activities at our properties, or use our on-property services, such as restaurant, concierge services, health clubs, and spa.
–Customer Service. We collect personal information when you make a reservation or authorize a third party to make a reservation on your behalf by call or email to Customer Service.
–IOT Devices. We may collect personal information from IOT Devices (which are devices that are connected to the Internet) that are available at our properties.
–Security Systems. We may collect information from audio or video located in public areas in our properties.
–Other Sources. We collect personal information from other sources, such as public databases, joint marketing partners and other third parties.
Personal Information that we collect from you automatically
–Information that we collect through automatic data collection, such as Google Analytics. As you navigate through and interact with our Website, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns, including: (a) Non-personal details of your visits to our Website, including traffic data, location data, logs and other communication data, and the resources that you access and use on the Website; (b) Information about your computer and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system and browser type.

Cookies. We also collect personal information through cookies and similar technologies, and provide additional details on cookies and how to change your cookie preferences.
Anonymized and Aggregated Data
Anonymization is a data processing technique that removes or modifies personal information so that it cannot be associated with a specific individual. Except for this section, none of the other provisions of this Privacy Notice applies to anonymized or aggregated customer data (i.e. information about our customers (i.e., you) that we combine together so that it no longer identifies or references an individual customer).
We may use anonymized or aggregate customer data for any business purpose, such as to better understand customer needs and behaviors, improve our Services, conduct business intelligence and marketing, and detect security threats. We may perform our own analytics on anonymized data or enable analytics provided by third parties.
Types of data we may anonymize include, contact information, survey information, and demographic information.
How Is Your Information Processed?
Personal information is used to communicate with you and to provide the products or services you have requested. It is also may be used to conduct business operations, to improve products and Services offered by us, and to send you marketing offers that may interest you.

To provide you Services. We use personal information to provide Services, including:
- Facilitate communication between you and us. Personal information may also be used to understand how customers use our Services in order to improve the experience and the services offered.
- Facilitate reservations, payment, sending information pertaining to your stay, to assist you with your requests, and to provide you with pertinent information.
- Complete your reservation and stay.
- Send you an electronic receipt of your bills, if requested by you.
We may not be able to provide you with the Services without such information.
To provide you with personalized service. We use personal information to improve and tailor our Services to your preferences. We may not be able to provide you with the personalized Services without such information.
Third Party Booking. If you use a third party to book a reservation, your personal information is used by us to confirm your reservation and provide Services.
To communicate with you. Your personal information is used to respond to you or to communicate with you about the Services. For example, we may contact you to inform you of any changes to your booking or to suggest activities to add to your itinerary. The types of communications that are sent depend on your use of the Services offered by us and can include:
- Confirmations and Itinerary Communications.You may receive communications to confirm your booking or to help you create an itinerary for your stay, such as communications containing information about local sites, services, places of interest and other things to do.
- Text Alerts.You may receive text message alerts related to information, services, marketing, or special offers that you have requested.
- Marketing and Targeted Advertising.Personal information is used to communicate with you about promotions and marketing offers that may be of interest you. Cookies and other similar technology are also used to learn about your interests and to send you more relevant advertising.
- Guest Surveys.If you stay with us, you may receive a guest survey to give feedback about your experience. These surveys are used to learn about how our Services can be improved.
If we do not process personal information for such purposes, we cannot respond to your requests which may interrupt your enjoyment of our Services. While you may be able to opt-out of marketing-related communications, you may not be able to out-out of receiving critical Service related communications, such as confirmation of your itinerary and appointments for activities that you have signed up to participate in at our properties where you are staying.
To ensure quality. We process your personal information for quality control and staff training to make sure that we continue to provide you with exceptional Service. If we do not process personal information for quality control purposes, you may experience issues with our Services.
To maintain security. We collect audio and visual images from cameras installed in public areas in our properties. In some of our properties, we may collect some biometric information. Without such information we will not be able to ensure security of our properties.
To enhance your experience. We process your personal information to provide a personalized experience, and implement the preferences you request. Without such processing, we may not be able to ensure your continued enjoyment of part or all of our personalized Services.
To facilitate corporate acquisition, mergers, or transactions. We may process any information that you have provided, including the use of our Services, as necessary, in the context of corporate acquisitions, mergers, or other corporate transactions. You have the option of asking us to delete your information if you do not wish to have your personal information processed for such purposes.
To engage in marketing activities. Based on your communication preferences, we may send you marketing communications (e.g. emails or mobile notifications) to inform you about our offers, events or our partner events; to deliver targeted marketing; and to provide you with promotional offers. Our marketing will be conducted in accordance with your advertising marketing preferences and as permitted by applicable law.

How Your Information Is Kept Secure
Physical, administrative and electronic safeguards are used to secure the confidentiality and integrity of personal data. While no method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure, and it is not possible to guarantee that a system or network will never be compromised, reasonable measures are taken to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, alteration, or unauthorized access or disclosure. It is your responsibility to keep your passwords confidential.

Expeditions Extraordinaire is headquartered in and has operations in Tanzania. To provide services, you acknowledge that your personal data may be shared with third parties in locations around the world for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice. Countries where data is processed may have data protection laws that differ from those in your own country.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on applicable law where you reside, you may be able to assert certain rights related to your personal information identified below. If any of the rights listed below are not provided under law for your jurisdiction, we have absolute discretion in providing you with those rights.
Your rights to personal information are not absolute. Depending upon the applicable law, access may be denied: (a) when denial of access is required or authorized by law; (b) when granting access would have a negative impact on others privacy; (c) to protect our rights and properties; (d) where the request is frivolous or vexatious, or for other reasons.
Access and portability. You may request that we provide you a copy of your personal information held by us. This information will be provided without undue delay. In certain circumstances, you may request to receive your personal information in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and to have us transfer your personal information directly to another data controller.

If we require more time, we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. We will confirm receipt of request to a verified customer within 10 days of receiving the same.
Retention of Personal Information
We store your personal information securely. We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting obligations or to resolve disputes. While retention requirements vary by jurisdiction, information about our typical retention periods for different aspects of your personal information are described below.
-Personal information collected to comply with our legal obligations may be retained for as long as required under such laws.
-Contact Information such as your name, email address and telephone number for marketing purposes may be retained for 5 years from the date of creation. Thereafter we will add your details to our suppression list to ensure we do not inadvertently market to you, unless you reach out to us.
-Information collected via technical means such as cookies, webpage counters and other analytics tools is kept for a period of up to one year from expiry of the cookie.
How to Opt Out of Marketing Communications
